What to Wear Wednesday: Joie SF Opening

Hi lovelies! I hope that you all are having a fantastic week so far. Mine has been extra busy and I’ve packed so much into the past two days that I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around that it’s only Wednesday. It definitely feels like it should be Thursday by now! I’m also really excited for the weekend because I will be attending the Gluten and Allergy Free Expo! There is going to be a huge vendor fair with all gluten-free vendors (and many that are free of the top 8 allergens) and lifestyle and cooking classes! It’s going to be great! Obviously expect a full recap post on it!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and tweets regarding my More Than a Number post the other day! I sometimes shy away from posting topics that are more serious in nature (I try to keep it fun and light on GGG) but I always feel so rewarded for opening up about the tough topics. I think being in the blogging world, we do have somewhat of a responsibility to address important issues like this, and hopefully these conversations can start to change the selective viewpoint that all women should be a certain size.

In other news, last night I had the opportunity to attend the Joie store opening on Fillmore street in San Francisco. I love the Joie brand and if you aren’t familiar with it, they are known for their gorgeous flowy silk shirts and dresses. Everything is made impeccably and I found myself wanting absolutely everything in the store. I often find myself too preoccupied with chatting at these events to actually shop, but I couldn’t resist last night. I tried on a few items and absolutely fell in love with the most perfect black lace dress. Fingers crossed it will find a new home in my closet very soon. It was such a fun event and I had a wonderful time checking out the store with my very good friend Ashley. She happens to live close to the Joie store so I see more shopping dates in our future 😉

What to Wear Wednesday: Hot Pink

Hi lovelies! I hope that you all had an absolutely wonderful Memorial day weekend and enjoyed an extra day off from work or school. This weekend I got the chance to attend the Indy 500 race with my parents and it was one of the best experiences ever! I’m still pretty exhausted from the trip (thanks flight delays) so rather than recapping it now, I thought I’d introduce you to a new feature on GGG! I’ve been working on a project for LOFT, taking pictures of my daily work outfits and thought it would be fun to share with you. I work in an environment where I need to look put together but can definitely take some creative license with my outfits, so that’s what you’ll be seeing here.

If you looked at my wardrobe a few years ago, you would have had trouble discerning between clothing items because they were pretty much all black. I’ve always liked wearing black and think it’s so flattering and classic. But over the past year or two, I’ve been working on pushing myself outside of the box and introducing color to my wardrobe- and I love it!

Shirt: Gap, Skirt: LOFT, Shoes: Nine West, Turquoise Statement Necklace: LOFT

I absolutely love this bright pink skirt and decided to embrace its classic shape and pair it with a white button down. This Gap shirt is one of my favorites and the fit is impeccable. As someone who has trouble with button down oxford shirts, I can tell you that Gap’s is a great find! I let the skirt take center stage and kept my shoes simple (don’t be fooled though, those are my signature 5-inch heels) and added a bright necklace as a focal point. I’m so excited about all the possibilities this skirt brings though and I can’t wait to colorblock!

-Do you like bright-colored clothing or do you prefer more subdued colors?
