Scenes from the Weekend

Hi lovelies! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I continued to take it a little easy this weekend but still had a lot of fun. On Friday night it was my dear friend Katie’s birthday and we gathered at her recently remodeled apartment for a lovely birthday dinner party! It was so much fun catching up with the girls and I had a blast. Early the next morning I piled in car with my mom, Grandma and my mom’s best friend and headed to my sister-to-be’s bridal shower! It was such a wonderful day and this was the start of many of the fun wedding activities to come! Sunday was spent doing errands and taking care of some projects that have been swept aside. Never that enjoyable to do but it is nice to feel accomplished and ready for the week. Have a great Monday!

The Best Birthday: Part 1

Hi lovelies! Hope that you are all having an amazing week so far! I can’t believe it is already Thursday which means it’s officially been a week since my birthday… which also means it’s definitely time for a recap post? I’ve been blessed with so many wonderful birthdays along the years, but 25 was an especially good one. This year, I really felt in awe of how many wonderful people I have in my life, and how so many people went out of their way, just for me. I felt so special and loved.

As I mentioned, I was lucky enough to have my birthday celebrations span over a two-week period, so it only makes sense to have a few posts to wrap it up, right? My birthday kicked off with a bang with a fabulous dinner party that my girlfriends threw for me. I have made such wonderful friends since moving to the Bay Area and feel so lucky to have these girls in my life. We spent the night laughing, practicing sock buns, eating delicious food, drinking champagne and just having a fabulous night. My friend Biz is also the party planner extraordinaire (check out her Olympics theme party and Derby Day party) and she went all out for my birthday as well! The party had a rustic chic/Fall look to it all and her apartment was covered in candles and sunflowers! She also created gorgeous candle centerpieces with mason jars, wine corks, burlap and twine that created the perfect ambiance.

The menu for the evening was heavy on my favorite food– cheese! We started with a delicious cheese plate, then had caprese, a delicious salad with goat cheese and beets, a fantastic butternut squash (my other favorite food) pasta sprinkled with cheese and asparagus with cheese and cherry tomatoes! Everything was so yummy and my friends are definitely pretty amazing in the kitchen! The night of course ended on a sweet note, and I was treated to a red velvet cake complete with cream cheese frosting. And yes, I just salivated a little bit as I typed that. Don’t judge. After eating my body weight in cheese, we had a photo shoot (thank goodness for the self timer) and then went out in the Marina!

It was such a fun evening and a HUGE thank you to all my wonderful friends who made it such a fantastic night. I love you all!
