What to Wear Wednesday: Dots

Hi lovelies! I hope that you all are having a great week so far and aren’t too caught up in the holiday craziness. This week has been so busy with last minute details, a growing to-do list, and tons of things to wrap up at the office. But with that being said, I’m trying to really take to heart what I said in my last post and focus on one matters. I know that everything will all come together in the end! In the spirit of the holidays, I thought I’d share with you what I wore to a recent holiday party. It was a casual get-together/potluck, so I knew that I didn’t want to be too dressed up but still wear something a little festive.

Lately, I’ve been into polka dots, a print I don’t usually embrace. (It seems like so long ago that I wasn’t sure how I felt about stripes!) I now own a polka dot top, sweater and dress. So why not add pants to the mix right? When I spotted these pants I was immediately drawn to them, and then wondered how they would look on- polka dots on pants seemed a little crazy for someone newly adopting this print. But I decided to give them a go and am so glad I did. They have a straight leg denim cut and are in my favorite color of the season.

Since it was a holiday party, I decided to wear a brightly colored top to match the pants but I’m already so excited about future pairings! I think a chambray shirt will definitely be happening! I also love the pants with a nude heel but decided these were a little more casual for the occasion.

Pants: Paige //Topshop (Love these!)

Necklace: Tiffany (This is mine!) // Target

  1. I LOVE the pants!! They’re super fun/festive for the holiday season! I’ve been embracing polka dots over the past few months, too. After Thanksgiving, I splurged at JCrew and bought a pink cashmere sweater with black polka dots. Then, just a week or two later, I bought another polka dot sweater from LOFT (black with white – I’m sure you know it! 😉 ) They’re sweet and simple, but fun!

One print I’ve always *wanted* to wear, but have never had the guts to try, is leopard. I own slippers and accessories, but when it comes to actual clothing that other people see, I always chicken out at the last minute. I did, however, ask for leopard print pajamas this Christmas, so I guess I’m moving in the right direction! 😉

Hope you’re having a wonderful week, Emily! ❤

  2. So cute!! I actually tried on a pair of navy polka dot pants this weekend at J Crew but they were really form-fitting which just didn’t look great with the polka dots. I think they needed to be a little looser to look good. Love those on you though!
