Fave 5 Friday

Hi lovelies! Happy, happy Friday! This has been a really busy week work wise so I’m definitely ready for a restful, fun weekend! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and take some time to relax and enjoy the company of your friends and family! And now it’s time for 5 things I’m loving this week!

1. Summer in San Francisco!

Even an iphone was able to capture this beauty!

The well known quote by Marc Twain goes, “the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” Well, it’s true. San Francisco summers are notoriously cold which was a bit of a shock for me coming from LA and Sacramento. I used to walk around sans jacket in the city over the summer and soon realized that a light jacket is essential for San Francisco living. But now our time has finally come and we are experiencing some beautiful weather here! So while everyone in the blog world is talking about Pumpkin Spice Lattes, I’m finally ready for some iced coffee!

2. New Lady Antebellum cd!

I’ve mentioned before, my tendency to listen to the same music over and over again, which has happened to me again recently. But when I scrolled through iTunes, I found that Lady Antebellum had come out with a new cd! I love the sound of Lady A, but do not love the song that they are most known for- Need You Now, after it got way, way overplayed. Their new cd on the other hand is great and I’m excited to have some new music!

3. Fall TV is Back!

This year, I did get sucked into the Bachelor Pad, but let’s face it, usually summer shows are just not that good. But I love fall tv premier season when all my favorite shows come back! I’ll admit that I’m really excited about the return of Glee, Modern Family, The Good Wife and my CW guilty pleasures, Gossip Girl and 90210. I may also have gotten hooked on Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family. Don’t judge me, it’s addicting.

4. Stacked Heel Boots!

Though I’m loving summer, I can’t help but be excited about fall fashion! One of my fall must haves is a perfect pair of boots. While I can usually be found in a 5 inch stilleto, I am finding myself very attracted to thicker, stacked heels! I think if I can find the right pair, they will be perfect with pants, skirts and sweater dresses! I’m officially on the hunt now so when Piperlime sent out this email today, it was kismet!

5. Mother’s Frosted Circus Animal Cookies!

These were always my mom’s favorite cookies growing up and since they were appropriately girly, they quickly became mine. Last weekend they were brought back into my life when my Grandma put out a whole spread of these cookies and my favorite candy (peanut m&ms) for something to ‘munch’ on when I visited her house! Needless to say, she sent them home with me and I have been enjoying my favorite little cookies and feel like a kid again!

-What Fall tv show are you glad is back? Or is there a new one you are excited about?

-What’s on your Fall shopping list?

-What was your favorite cookie or candy growing up/now?

  1. I LOVE LadyA! They are so awesome! ….I can’t rock the boots very well, they make me like 6’2” if I wear that kind of heel- the husband isn’t quite 5’9” so that would make him quit uncomfortable. But they are SO cute!!!
Modern Family & Desperate Housewives are what I’m really looking forward to! (I like Grey’s too, but it feels like it is dragging itself out a tad….)

  2. Oh my gosh, those frosted animal crackers are THE BOMB. I used to down containers and containers of them when I was young– heck, I’m pretty sure if they were wheat-free I’d still do it today!!!

And I dont watch much TV, but Glee is definitely something that will always have my heart โค

  3. Omg I love gossip girl! I cannot wait for it to come back on! As for the stcked boots–i love them! I’m just loving all stacked heels these days cause it looks like I could actually walk in them! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Oh I love San Francisco’s Indian summers! I hope you’re enjoying lots of delicious iced coffee….preferably from Philz or Blue Bottle! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lady Antebellum is a favorite of mine too…so glad to hear the new album is a good one! And I agree—overplaying songs kind of ruins them! That’s how I feel about Adele’s “Rolling In the Deep.” Love her, love the song, BUT I need a little break. ๐Ÿ™‚

LOVE the stacked heel boots! I may not be a fan of winter, but what I love about cooler temps is that I have an excuse to wear boots every day. They class up any outfit!

    Happy weekend, Emily! xoxo

  5. I love san fran! I was there this summer and the weather was perfect. Not freezing cold, but not hot. I am hoping to eventually move there after college. I am so glad that fall TV has started! Boots!! Def one of the best parts of fall. It is still too hot to wear them in TX but I can’t wait to bust mine out once the temps drop a little.

  6. omg we are seriously meant to be friends. i am obsesesd with those cookies. the only ones that rival them are vanilla double stuf oreos. but seriously. OBSESSED. when i was in the peace corps and had already been in africa for a year, this guy coming out in the next group said he could bring me ONE thing and it was a bag of those cookies. fact.

secondly… so true about the summer! but i totally laughed because i’m also here via LA and Sacramento! HS in Sac (Granite Bay), college in LA, then africa then SF. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. SF looks so pretty, even though I bet it is freeeeezing!

I’m so happy that fall TV is back too. I love watching 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and The Office… along with my guilty pleasure shows like Pretty Little Liars, Melissa & Joey, etc.

Growing up, I loved the iced oatmeal cookies… I think they were the “Mothers” brand? They were so delicious. I also really like Oreos. I would take all the cream and separate it into a bowl and then eat the cream after eating all the chocolate cookies parts.
